N.C. Fire & Rescue Commission Assistance to Firefighters
Workshops
Presented by The North Carolina Department of Insurance Office of State Fire
Marshal and The Department of Homeland Security
These classes will provide information on the grants available
through the Assistance to Firefighters Programs. The AFG grants are available to
Fire Departments and non-affiliated EMS Organizations and provide funding for
vehicles, fire & EMS equipment, PPE and training. The following will be covered
during the workshops:

An overview of
the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) and
Fire Prevention grants

Changes for the 2010 application process
·
Grant writing tips & common errors
·
Interactive practice and feedback on how to strengthen
the narrative portion of the application.
Each workshop will last about 2 ˝ hours and is sponsored by
DHS/FEMA. For more information or for workshops in neighboring

2010 Forsyth County Fire & Rescue Association
training Curriculum calendar
Just added! Click on the Training
Committee & Calendar tab at the top of the page and download the 2010 Forsyth
County Fire & Rescue Association Training Curriculum calendar. You will notice
there has been some changes to the calendar. Beginning in 2010, all Firefighter
I & II classes will be offered on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (NO
SATURDAYS). You will also notice class locations are not posted. Only
dates, times and subjects are listed not class locations.
You will need to come to the website to see
where a class is being held. Classes will begin on Tuesday January 5,
2010.
